If you're anything like me, you have BIG goals for 2018.

Problem is, LIFE, amirite!?

About 3 years ago, I read The Four Disciplines of Execution by Franklin-Covey (which is a fairly corporate-style book on productivity) and it talked about the whirlwind.

The whirlwind is all the day-to-day stuff that HAS to get done in order for life to keep going. The crucial stuff, like eating and sleeping, getting the kids ready and off to school, your daily commute, showering, etc.

If you have a business, your whirlwind is a LITTLE bigger (and by a little, I mean A LOT). There are certain tasks we HAVE to do every day to keep it running.

All too often in the early years of my business, I would find myself with an overwhelming huge list of to-do's that were CRUCIAL! Client project deadlines, invoicing, launching or closing down offers, social media posts, prospecting, sales, follow up, blogging, updating my website, podcast interviews, that book I wanted to write, Facebook lives, Instagram stories...you see where this is going, right?

All the pros make it look so easy!

Here's the thing. Before I could hire a team, I had to get REALLY smart about how I spent my time.

After all, it was just me! I was handling every. single. task. And not just in my business, but in LIFE. This meant managing a household with kids and a spouse and the family cat, laundry, meals, cleaning, errands, dentist appointments, school plays....the list never ends.

2 years ago, I learned about CHUNKING. Before I fully understood it, I tried to plan my weeks in advance as much as possible and make sure I fit in all the SUPER important stuff around my business.

You guessed it! It DIDN'T work. Why? Because I burned out. By the time my schedule was full of all the business stuff I wanted to get done in a week, everything else I wanted to do, like exercise, hobbies and date night took up too much time. I was EXHAUSTED.

I had to take a step back and sort out my life. As Tony Robbins says, we have to flip to question from "what am I going to do?" to "what do I WANT?" This gets us focused on the RESULTS from our activities, not just filling our calendar with activities.

Once we have a grasp on the RESULTS we want, we can reverse engineer the activities that are required to obtain that result. Then we can CHUNK our schedules to match and get the most done in the least amount of time, because our brains LOVE being able to focus on one thing at a time.

Which leads me to the POWER HOUR crew.

The secret sauce to my productivity has been the Magic of Three:

1. Chunking,
2. Rapid Planning Method (RPM), and
3. ACCOUNTABILITY.

You see, I had OKAY success with chunking and RPM on my own. But sticking with it was HARD. It took discipline I just didn't have (yet).
I struggled. I would do it for a few weeks, then fall out of the habit. Then pick it back up, only to drop it again.

I was SO frustrated with myself.

But then something happened.

In March 2017, I starting working with a new business partner. We began meeting twice a week to discuss our projects, to-do lists, and prioritizing which tasks needed to be done first, etc. We expanded our team. We kept eachother in check, and offered guidance or encouragement when the other needed it.

It was a major LIGHTBULB moment for me (ding)!

If I had the ability to hire a team a lot earlier, I may have accomplished a lot more of my goals A LOT sooner.

But getting started in my business and finding those first new clients (and keeping the flow going) was the hardest part for me. And I needed those clients to be able to have enough money to HIRE the team! It was like a chicken-or-the-egg scenario.

I know what it feels like to have to keep putting off my dreams because of the whirlwind.

I've put together a CREW of biz owners JUST LIKE YOU, who want to carpe the ish outta this diem! AKA: GOAL DIGGERS.

We've been called to something much bigger than ourselves, and we need a bigger support network to make that happen.

And I've been called to support YOU. This is my BIGGEST commitment in 2018, to help others make their dreams come true. Sounds cliche, I know, but it's so real and BIG and important to me and to the world.

Your work is SO needed out there. The world needs YOU to shine and be the example of what's POSSIBLE.

ENTER: the POWER HOUR crew.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the crew meets at 9am MST (8am PST/10am CST/11am EST/4pm GMT)* for ONE HOUR. We kick off our day TOGETHER. We tackle those to-do lists TOGETHER. We SHOW UP, TOGETHER. We GET STUFF DONE. TOGETHER. *this time doesn't work for you? I encourage you to consider making the Power Hour a top priority and re-arrange your calendar, even if it means asking for help. The progress you'll make with 3 focused hours a week will dramatically increase your productivity, sales and RESULTS in your business.

#crewrules

1. No interruptions - this means Facebook, cell phones, or other focus-stealing distractions are turned off, closed down or otherwise disabled (with the exception for work-at-home parents with littles at home).

2. Show up, no matter what - this means even if you're still in your pj's or haven't combed your hair, we always log in, camera on. It's okay! The crew is a NO-JUDGE zone. We're all in this together, remember?

3. Mic's stay muted - we want to see your focus-face, but volume stays off (see rule #1). Feel free to use the chat function in zoom to ask questions to the group or to me, as I'll be logged in with you for EVERY Power Hour (pinky swear)!

4. Ready or not, here we come - even if you haven't figured out what needs to be done in what order, login anyway. Use the time to chunk and RPM so you can tackle the rest of your week with confidence and ease.

5. Commit - once you decide to join the crew, you join the Power Hour family. We want to be a part of your inevitable success! We'll be cheering you on throughout the week, even outside of the Power Hour in our Slack channel! Ask questions, get help, connect with the crew and get free coaching from me during weekly office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm MST).

What if I have no idea what my goals for 2018 are? No problem! I will be providing worksheets and guides throughout our sessions together to help with just that! There is no pressure to come 'prepared' or 'ready'. Come as you are; we'll sort it out together.

What if I miss a session? If you miss a session, you miss out on your focused productivity for that hour. Partly why there is a small cost to participate is to incentivize you to show up.

Why is there a cost to participate in the sessions? Would you show up and commit if it were free? Just sayin! With skin in the game, you're more likely to participate.

What is Zoom? Zoom is a free video-conferencing app we use to meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you are using a desktop or laptop computer, you do not need to download it. If you are using a mobile phone or tablet, you will need to download the app to join the calls. Get it for Android or Apple.

How will I access the Zoom calls? The link for the weekly call will be shared once you complete enrolment. Simply save or bookmark the link for easy access. It is also in the Slack channel.

What is Slack? Slack is a closed chat workspace where we can ask questions, get guidance, share challenges or wins, upload photos, files and generally stay in contact with eachother outside of social media (which REALLY helps with focus)!

Do I need to have a desktop computer? No. Both Zoom and Slack are available for mobile phones or tablets.

Am I able to login remotely? Absolutely! Zoom and Slack are both available for free on your preferred mobile device.

What sorts of things can I work on during the Power Hour? Anything that requires 60 minutes of focus. Maybe it's write an email sequence, or researching recipes for this week's meal plan. There is no right or wrong activity, as long as you feel it's moving you forward toward your goals.
