Trust is the most boring, most valuable thing on the internet right now.
A small theory: the era of the influencer is slowly ending, and what's replacing it isn't another type of celebrity. It's something much older. The friend. The one who texts you a book recommendation, unprompted, and changes your week. This is an essay about why that small, ordinary act is becoming the most valuable behaviour on the internet, and what that means if you make a living online.
